A warm welcome awaits you at our family run organic dairy farm. You can help to milk the cows and feed the calves, or you could simply enjoy a walk down to the River Torridge where you can relax or follow the river bank along where we have 400m of private salmon/trout fishing. Alternatively, you can follow the Tarka Trail which crosses through the farmyard or you could take a walk on our own farm trail.
The village of Iddesleigh is approx. 1 mile away with the award winning 15th century pub "The Duke Of York". Here excellent food is served, families are welcome and you can see scenes from the BBC TV series "Down to Earth" - filmed here!
Hatherleigh is approx 3 miles. This is an ancient market town with cob and thatched cottages situated in the heart of rural Devon. On Tuesdays there is a pannier market and there are a variety of shops and pubs. For more information abouth Hatherleigh please visit www.hatherleigh.net .
It is an ideal base from which to explore Devon and Cornwall. The Eden Project is approximately 1 hour 15 minutes away. The RHS Rosemoor Gardens are within easy reach.
Parsonage Farm was the home of the 19th century famous Parson Jack Russell - he bred the strain of terrier which bears his name. The farm is set in quiet and picturesque surroundings with a view of Dartmoor.
Directions to Parsonage Farm
If approaching from the east on the A30 dual carriageway, leave at the Merrymeet Junction, bearing left into the small village of Whiddon Down. Turn right onto the B3214 and continue to the junction with the A3072 at De Bathe Cross just short of North Tawton. Turn left on to the A3072 and follow this through the village of Sampford Courtenay to the village of Exbourne. Turn right on to the B3217, continue through the village of Monkokehampton and having crossed over the river bridge, turn sharp left towards Iddesleigh. Follow this road for about a mile past Ash House and turn left at Walden's Cross. Continue over the next crossroads, signposted to Nethercott and Bridge Town, bear round to the right and continue for 0.4 of a mile, passing Nethercott House on the left hand side and Parsonage Farm entrance will be seen on the first right.
